on my Flickr pages.
I am Morgan Stone Grether and this site serves a playground and a showcase for my experiments in digital art, music, and writing.
One focus of these projects has been dynamic generators, creating content and meaning on demand for people from random data.
This includes random band names, story plots, love lyrics, and more.
Take a look around. I appreciate any feedback you may have about this site.
General Creativity Generator Launched
OK, so you are an artist type, and you are stumped about what to work on next? Well, look no further. I have all the answers for you here at my new General Creativity Generator: http://www.morgangrether.info/everything/always/creativity_generator.
I for instance am going to soon be working on a novel about feeling aroused in Frankfurt. What will you be working on?
New Photo Blog: “Palatine Hill”
OK, so I’ve made a thingy on Tumblr ... for my photos around Lewis & Clark - http://palatinehill.tumblr.com/
It’s called the Palatine Hill photo blog, and I’ll be updating it from time to time whenever I feel I had a good pic or two to add. I have a bunch of backlog too, for that matter that I’ll trickle up there.
New Covers LP Released: FORGERIES
You asked for it, you got it. Forgeries: A brand new collection of cover songs from yours truly, Stone Grether.
I had so much fun doing this—and fun was the only reason for doing this—that I plan on making a collection like this every year now. A new tradition is born!
New EP: “Portland Unconscious: Live in Portland, 5 July 2010”
More music all the time, that’s the motto here, right? Today I have for you a new eight-song EP: Portland Unconscious: Live in Portland, 5 July 2010.
We have some originals, some covers, and because it is off a bootleg, the audio quality leaves a bit to be desired. But still, enjoy!
“Lower Your Standards” Video Clips
Me playing at a house party in Portland, Oregon, 5 July 2010.

Love Letter and Breakup Letter Generators Launched!
As promised, I am launching two new generators today. They are still a little rough around the edges—definitely “version 1.0”—but I think you’ll get a kick out them now, and I promise I will keep working to improve them. So here they are:
Breakup Letters:

Love Letters:

Three New Random Generators in the Works
I have three new random generators in “beta” mode that I’ll post here once they are functioning well enough: (1) a love letter generator, (2) a break-up letter generator, and (3) a more general “creativity” generator to give you ideas for what creative project you should embark upon next, you artist, you.
New Birthday Poem
I have added a new entry in the Birthday Poems project. This one is titled, “The Other Basement: To Olivia, On Your Sixth Birthday,” and can be found here:

Rebuilt: Sci-Fi Plot Generator
Much to my annoyance, it turns out my beloved science fiction plot generator was failing on several mobile devices (e.g., the iPhone and iPad), and so I have completely rebuilt it under the hood to rectify the situation. The generator is now found at this location:
